MORE ABOUT JESSICA…
Jessica Lorenz is an Australian actor with a foundation in pre-professional dance and screen performance.
She trained with QLT Leap in Canberra, ACT under the direction of Ruth Osborne and The Cowra Ballet School whilst also studying acting throughout high school. This dual foundation established a strong physical and emotional intelligence that continues to inform her work on screen.
In 2019, Jessica attended Port Shorts Film Festival in Port Douglas a prominent Australian festival attracting international film makers. Where she gained deeper understanding of the industry beyond performance- including storytelling, collaboration, and the creative processes behind short-form cinema.
Since then, she has continued refining her work with leading industry practitioners including Kim Farrant, Tim Franklin, Les Chantery, Joshua Sasse, Anna McCrossin- Owen, Anthony Brandon Wong, and George Konstand, with a growing focus on film and character driven narratives.
Her early life in foster care instilled resilience, adaptability and emotional range- qualities that now informs her approach to layered and psychologically nuanced roles.
For Jessica performance became both language and refuge.
Humanitarian work is an important part of Jessica’s life. In 2015, she spent three months volunteering in Vanuatu, assisting with cyclone recovery efforts and teaching education and dance in remote villages. Humanitarian work has helped shaped her grounded perspective and global awareness.
Jessica approaches her work with discipline, preparation, and a respect for process, drawn to roles that explore complexity, intimacy, power and psychological depth.
